Since 2006, Dr. Paredes has held several positions in higher education. Currently she is serving as the Assistant Vice President for Institutional Effectiveness and Assessment at Old Dominion University. In additional to leading accreditation and assessment activities at the institution, Dr. Paredes has helped other institutions with their efforts by leading workshops, giving presentations, or reviewing documents.
Her recent book - Using Focus Groups to Listen, Learn, and Lead in Higher Education –is a cookbook approach to conducting focus groups, showcasing a practical approach.
Dr. Paredes holds a B.S in Exercise Science, M.S. in Applied Health Physiology, and a Ph.D. in Higher Education.
